So Saturday marked our second anniversary. Woohoo! We’re on the home stretch now! I’m beginning to think this marriage has legs! (Just kidding Chuck – I always knew it – really, I mean it. No, seriously. Anyway…). So to celebrate the occasion, we decided to return to the scene of the crime, Laguna Beach. We hadn’t been back since the ceremony, so it was a pleasant trip down memory lane. Except for one small difference – two years ago the sun was shining and the temperature was in the mid 70’s. This weekend the temperature was in the 50’s and it was pouring rain. This didn’t stop us from enjoying the scenery and the ocean. We stayed at a great old hotel called La Casa del Camino, and ate at Las Brisas (where we had our wedding dinner – and belated thanks to Louise and Tony for the gift card that it took us a year to use!). We have learned to toss the fact that it’s our anniversary around a fair bit, as we never know what freebies may come our way. This year we got: two glasses of champagne with strawberries (yum!), and a delicious chocolate brownie dessert. Not bad, if pretty fattening. We took a long walk in the rain this morning to make up for all of the calories we consumed the previous night (then blew it by having a huge lunch at a Mexican restaurant on the way home, oh well). So here we are, at the start of year three, and life is good, what more can we say?
Pictures and Quicktime movies of us mushy lovebirds (and some neat shots of Laguna Beach, too) are here.
