Odd that I should read this story today, as poor Mia just got back from the vet sporting a collar as she is suffering from an anal gland infection. WARNING: queasy readers should stop reading here!! I noticed yesterday that she had a hairless, angry red butt, so into the vet she went today, to have the infection excised (aka have the world’s largest pimple popped, which is every bit as gross as it sounds) then got a cortisone shot in her butt for the itching (ouch!) and has to wear a dorky collar for the next week, take antibiotics and get a salve rubbed on her tush twice a day. Boy, sometimes I am so glad I’m not a dog!!
