Let’s play kill the cat!

roscoe tries his great escape

Our friend Kyra came over last night, and brought a friend: her new kitten (I use that term loosely as he’s a good 8 pounds already at five months) named Roscoe. He had a little accident on the way over, and crapped all over himself (these things happen). So when they arrived, Kyra asked if it was okay if she cleaned him off. We didn’t mind at all, as he did kind of reek. The amazing thing was that she went upstairs and put him in the bathtub! The cat actually likes water! After his bath he headed out to meet and greet. Mia was really excited to meet Roscoe, and immediately started chasing him. Roscoe stood his ground, but refused to take a swipe at her nose (sheades of our experiences with Pete aka Spot). But Roscoe, while apparently non-violent, wasn’t afraid of the dog and still hung around all the people until Mia would get in his face and he’d run away and hide. It all seemed quite playful and amusing, except when Mia got close enough to the cat to rub noses, she was snapping. Who’d have thought our gentle beta dog had it in her? Roscoe heaved the cat version of a huge sigh of relief as he headed home. Guess we won’t be getting a kitty any time soon…
