For the past three years or so, we’ve been going up to Griffith Park around Christmas to see the DWP Light Festival. Speaking as an Edison customer, it’s sort of obscene how the DWP consumes electricity, but hey, it is a pretty cool light show they put on. The lights go on for about half a mile, and there are light displays of all sorts of So Cal icons: the Hollywood sign, City hall, LAX, the La Brea Tar Pits, that sort of thing. Cars drive at a snail’s pace through the lights, but as there is a wide path to the side, you can also run, bike or walk to see them as well. We have been making an annual event out of it with our running club, the Los Feliz Flyers. Chuck coaches a bunch of them, and we have dubbed ourselves the TOGs, which stands for The Other Group (as in the slower group), and if I do say so myself, we are the fun group as well.
Anyway, we had a nice relaxed run/walk last night (most of us did, except Hnery who got lost on the way and ended up having to drive trhough the light display to find us. He eventually made it and caught us at the turnaround point). Here are pics of the event!
