Max Mini crossed the 200 mile mark today while we were driving around running errands. He’s the best little car in the world, and I’m not just saying that (okay, maybe I am). Anyway, while we were out and about, I stopped at the UPS Store (Chuck & my home away from home – our business mailing address – run by the fabulous Julie & Lisa). Awaiting me were two massive boxes, each about six feet tall and heavy. Uh-oh! What to do? We decided to try fitting them in the Mini. I pushed the front seat forward as far as possible and opened the hatch. We shoved and lo and behold, the whole six foot box slid in! Wow! But there was still one more to go, and the only place for that was on the driver’s side. it fit, but about a foot of it hung off the back of the car. As the boxes were so heavy, I wasn’t very concerned about them sliding out on the 3-block drive home, but to be on the safe side, we decided to tie the hatch down using some string. That worked for about 100 feet, then the hatch just popped open and I drove the rest of the way with Max’s behind exposed. We made it home safely, yay!
