Here at the O’Shea Institute of Mental Health, things have been very busy of late. We’ve been providing counseling and advice (and in some cases bed and breakfast) to various troubled souls of our acquaintance. I mention this by way of an explanation for the gap in my postings. It’s been pretty intense and only settled down earlier this week. Not to say the OIMH (as I’ll call it from now on) has closed its doors for good: just that the inmates have all checked out for the time being.
The hardest part of all this (and why I have been such a bad blogger) is that we’ve had to keep doing the daily grind (i.e. work) while also running the OIMH. It’s tough, I tell you, tough. We’re off this afternoon for a nice work-related break: I have a two-day meeting in Seattle, then we’re taking the ferry across Puget Sound and spending the weekend in Victoria, BC, my favorite city in all the world. The weather may not cooperate (rain is in the forecast) but I’m still looking forward to the trip. We have our passports all ready to whip out as needed – it’ll be interesting to see if they ask for them on the ferry. We’re staying at the Victoria Marriott Inner Harbour. I’d have preferred one of the older, cooler places, but cost was a factor. Those older, cooler places cost an arm and a leg!!
Jesus my iPhone is a very happy camper. He got his first software update last night and is connecting to bluetooth much better now. He’s going on his first trip today, so we’ll see how he likes travel and flying in planes.
