We received our voter pamphlet for the February primary election and I was underwhelmed by its content. The propositions were well represented but the candidates for POTUS – they were nonexistent. Hmm. Is nobody running? Have the candidates just completely given up on California? Not at all. The pamphlet says that for info on the presidential candidates we should go check out the Secretary of State’s website or call their toll-free number and they’ll mail you additional info on the candidates. I don’t know about you, but this strikes me as a good way to disenfranchise folks who 1) don’t have Internet access and/or 2) don’t or can’t call the toll-free number.
I say the heck with all of that. I like Glassbooth, where you can match your views to all of the candidates. And it includes ALL of the candidates – for instance, my selections led me to learn about Mike Gravel. And there’s the 2008 Technology Voter’s Guide. As for the propositions, who knows? But I like this YouTube video!
