Resolutions

2011 has started! We’re now a few weeks into it and so far we’ve run one race and attended several spinning classes. It’s all part of a long-range plan to get ourselves in better shape. We joined a new gym in our area, and they offer free spin classes so we started going on Tuesday and Thursday mornings before we settle into work for the day. The first class or two nearly killed us, but now we’ve actually started to enjoy it. It’s done wonders for our aerobic capacity and helped not only our biking but also our running. The run was part of the LASAA Mug Run series; super cheap, super well-supported runs that take place at various sheriff stations all over So Cal.

I’ve given myself a challenge: to complete a half Ironman triathlon (1.2mile swim, 56mile bike, 13.1mile run) before my 55th birthday. I figure it’s good to state the challenge, but even better to give myself a fair amount of time to accomplish the task. At the rate I’m going it’s going to take all of that time to get the job done.

That’s it. oh, I should make one other resolution: to get our Christmas letter for 2010 out before the end of January. Yikes! We’re running out of time!!
