I completely missed an entry from Eileen a few weeks back, then today I received an email from a friend, Richard Castro, congratulating me on our 9th anniversary. Â Was really very nice of him to say and to send a copy of Eileen’s post, “Another anniversary”. Â If you haven’t read it you should, she is a very good writer. Â In fact about 11 years ago when we first meet there were a few times I didn’t think the relationship would get any traction, then she would send me a letter and I thought WOW lets give this a little longer and see if we can make it work. Â Fortunately I did give it more time and WOW has it worked.
You know how when you read a really good book and it seems like you just started and your finished? Â Our 9 years seems like it started yesterday. Â The good news is it doesn’t stop like a book it just keeps getting better. Â The other thing that I find interesting is, even though it has only been 9 years, I feel like Eileen has always been in my life now. Â Hard to imagine that she hasn’t always been by my side.
As you may or may not know we work together. Â So when someone says how much time do we spend together, well it’s almost all day every day and I can’t see it any other way. Â We have friends, married friends who really like going off to work and having a few hours of time away from each other. Â I on the other hand feel like something is missing when we are not together. Â Not that we can’t do our own things now and then, and we do. Â But together we are better. Â Sounds corny but it’s true.
We have had our ups and downs, but the downs aren’t about “us” they have been what life has thrown our way, cancer etc. Â The ups are what we have made of our time together and our adventures. Â Next big one coming the end of March. (Europe here we come again and let the volcanos lay dormant this time) Â I know we have as long as we have with each other and I plan on making everyday a good day.
wul, Charlie

I love you too, and for a guy who says he doesn’t write all that well – well, I don’t agree!
