The Wilhelm Scream
I read about this on Boing Boing this morning. Back in 1951, a sound designer for the film Distant Drums brought in a contract actor to record some screams to be dubbed into a scene in the movie. The scream then entered into the Warner Bros. sound library and has been used dozens of times

The week in review
Time keeps getting away from me! We got back from our adventures in Sacramento, and it was on to the next thing it seemed, with no stops. We did manage to fit in a few adventures, and the topper was last Friday when we went to the newly renovated Griffith Park Observatory. It was closed
